'EID AL FITR FESTIVAL
Ramadan is the sacred 9th month of the Islamic calendar in which Muslims celebrate the revelation of the Holy Koran. Muslims observe fast from dawn till dusk. While fasting, Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking and sexual affairs. Visitors are also required to abstain from consuming these items in public.
Eid Al Fitr also called as ‘Feast of Breaking the Fast’ is a major Muslim festival and is celebrated at the end of Ramadan. The festival is celebrated for three days and starts after the morning prayers. Gifts are also exchanged between the friends and relatives.
Eid Al Adha also called as the ‘Feast of Sacrifice’ it is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, and it honours the keenness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son for the command of god. The celebrations lasts for four days and a sacrifice is made of a cow, camel, ram etc. depending on the region.

UMM SUQEIM BEACH
An attractive sandy expanse known for its stunning views of the Burj Al Arab. It is a very popular destination with kitesurfers. This beach provides shelters, changing huts and shower facilities and is very popular with Jumeirah residents and Western expatriates. It is a free public beach open 24 hours a day. Since there are no cafés or restaurants on the beach, it is recommended you bring your own snacks and drinks. During the weekdays, the park is only open to women and children. The beach gets crowded during the weekends, so it is best visited early in the morning. Umm Suqeim Beach is 10 miles (16 kilometers) from the downtown area and easily accessible by car or public transport. The nearest metro station is First Gulf Bank on the Red Line.
AL MAMZAR BEACH PARK
Al Mamzar Beach Park covers an area of 106 hectares which includes huge expanses of grassed picnic areas, an amphitheatre, swimming pools, kid’s play areas, barbecue & food spots, lagoons and sheltered beach coves. One of the main characteristics of the park is that it offers five outstretched beaches with lifeguards, watchtowers, changing rooms and shades for sunbathers. The park can be reached from many entrances, although gates are specified for individuals and cars. Recently, the beach park was awarded the Blue Flag certification for adhering to strict international standards. The Al Mamzar Beach Park is open from 8.00am to 11.00pm daily except Thursdays and Fridays.
